Global Liberty Alliance part of international coalition on Dawit Isaak case

​Dawit Isaak is a Swedish-Eritrean journalist arbitrarily detained in Eritrea since September 23, 2001; he has been held without charge or trial for nearly twenty-five years. He is widely recognized as the longest-detained journalist in the world.

The Global Liberty Alliance Legal Defense Fund is an endorsing member of the international coalition working on his case, led by the Raoul Wallenberg Center for Human Rights in Montreal, with the Honorable Irwin Cotler serving as international legal counsel.

Coalition partners include the Harald Edelstam Foundation, the Committee to Protect Journalists, Reporters Without Borders, the Human Rights Foundation, PEN Eritrea, Hostage Aid Worldwide, Eritrea Focus, Free Dawit, and Human Rights Solidarity.  The coalition's public Appeal for Action is available at Free Dawit.
