Dawit Isaak is a Swedish-Eritrean journalist arbitrarily detained in Eritrea since September 23, 2001; he has been held without charge or trial for nearly twenty-five years. He is widely recognized as the longest-detained journalist in the world. The Global Liberty Alliance Legal Defense Fund is an endorsing member of the international coalition working on his case, led by the Raoul Wallenberg Center for Human Rights in Montreal, with the Honorable Irwin Cotler serving as international legal counsel.
