On July 16, the oldest and largest group of independent lawyers in Cuba, Corriente Agramontista, issued a statement in response to the Cuban government's continued abuse of rule of law as a means of further repress its own citizens.

Earlier this month, on July 8, Corriente Agramontista also released an URGENT DECLARATION requesting international support in the wake of deadly circumstances in Matanzas. As the Cuban government compels its medical professionals to travel abroad, those at home are faced with a catastrophic situation of overcrowding, no access to medicines, food, or even basic healthcare.
