(Alexandria, Virginia) The Global Liberty Alliance has joined a coalition effort led by Advancing American Freedom urging the Department of State to re-designate the Houthis as a terrorist organization. The letter is embedded at the end of this post. This call to action includes 42 signatories and comes in response to the Houthis' aggressive actions, including firing missiles at Israel and persistently attacking American and other international ships in the Red Sea. Such hostile activities have compelled the world's leading shipping companies to reroute their vessels, significantly disrupting global trade and contributing to the rise in oil prices. The coalition's united stance reflects a determined effort to address these threats and promote global security and economic stability. "Delisting the Houthis as terrorists was an early misstep by the current administration," stated GLA President Jason Poblete. "The Middle East's instability has only intensified following Hamas' unprovoked attacks on Israel, with the Houthis contributing further to the turmoil. Diplomatic efforts seem futile in deterring them. It's imperative for the United States to adopt a stance of pragmatic realism and confront our adversaries with the seriousness they warrant."
