The Global Liberty Alliance Joins Accountability Efforts In The Matter of Mr. Amer Fakhoury, American held hostage in lebanon, died shortly after his release from captivity

The Global Liberty Alliance known for promoting fundamental rights, free enterprise, and the rule of law, and the U.S.-based legal defense fund recently reiterated their commitment to the cause in the case of Mr. Amer Fakhoury, an American who was held hostage in Lebanon, as the family of the deceased seek justice.

“We applaud the efforts of the Fakhoury family, seeking justice for the death of Mr. Fakhoury, an American who was held hostage in Lebanon,” said GLA President Jason Poblete. “The Global Liberty Alliance will continue to support them and other accountability efforts in cases of unjust imprisonment and hostage-taking by Lebanon and other foreign governments,” added Poblete.
 
The unlawful arrest, detention, torture, and death of Mr. Amer Fakhoury continues to draw global attention, and the family of the deceased Lebanese American has sued the Lebanese government along with its General Directorate Of General Security in the United States District Court in Washington, D.C for their alleged involvement two years ago. Mr. Amer Fakhoury, a former resident of New Hampshire, was unlawfully detained, imprisoned, and brutalized at a Lebanese intelligence prison in September 2019 when he returned to his birth country on a vacation visit to see his brothers and sisters. The Fakhoury family filed a suit against the government of Iran last year, represented by Robert J. Tolchin of the Berkman Law Office in New York.
